monmouth university wedding portraits

This wedding day started off on Keyport, New Jersey for the bride’s getting ready photos. Once she was ready, we departed to the Deep Cut Gardens in Red Hill for the first look and some garden portraits. From there, a photo op under a covered bridge followed by more portraits at the historic Woodrow Wilson Hall at Monmouth University. The wedding ceremony and reception were held at The Grammercy at Lakeside Manor in Hazlet.

This wedding marks the official start of my new style of side-lit wedding ceremonies. I’ve done a few others that way by necessity, but here, despite many options, I made the conscious decision to do so. I think it looks beautiful, and it gives the couple a polished yet pleasingly realistic look to their wedding ceremony photos when most others seem nice but a bit flat.
