trash the dress

This adventurous couple braved an undertow and hammerhead sharks to get what I think to this day was one of the most fun, challenging and creative photo shoots I’ve done. I shot it (in my swim trunks) with a borrowed nikon D200 using only existing light. Thank God for cloudy days!

angelica’s retro boudoir session

In this batch of sessions, Eden Vaschon and I decided to create a sexy retro look for our models. Angelica is a total pro and was an absolute pleasure to work with. Not only is she a gorgeous model, but smart and hard working. We used a high-angle strobe with a tight grid on it,…

cynthia’s portfolio shoot

Cynthia needed more photos for her portfolio so she could submit to agencies. Like the others, we did some work with her in the studio before she and I went out for a natural light portrait session in Upper Manhattan next to the Westside Highway. Despite the cold which made for a quick session, Cynthia…

hervé léger by max azria – nyc fashion week 2013

Here’s the Hervé Léger by Max Azria fall 2013 lineup at the Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week. I shot it for the Westlake Malibu Lifestyle magazine in the “Theatre”, a tent set up at Lincoln Center. Fashion Week is pretty outstanding, with lots of new things for you fashionistas out there from funky new styles to supermodels to…

melissa bhagwatprasad

an aspiring, young model

Amanda has always wanted to be a fashion model, and though she’s definitely pretty enough, never had an opportunity to get instruction and photos to start things off. Then she stumbled upon Eden Vaschon’s ad for both instruction and fantastic photos to start her portfolio off and signed up immediately. We did her makeup, hair…

a red dress in winter

I’ve always wanted to shoot a beautiful woman in red under a cloudy sky next to a river, but the concept was a red umbrella and not a red dress. So when Anna Oshima and I were doing her headshots, it didn’t even occur to me to take her outside until someone said I should take…

choctails!

I was invited to assist Eden Vaschon in shooting Choctails, a new kind of alcoholic chocolates that are about to be released on the market. Our charge was helping Tina, the company’s co-owner brand her product with a distinct look. We shot all day in a studio in Chelsea with two lovely models displaying the desserts….
