CAPP5, Onsite 1

I know it’s taken me forever, but here’s the first day of CAPP, the certificate in positive psychology, run by Emiliya Zhivotovskaya. It’s been my pleasure to be both a participant and the photographer for this course, and I look forward to our next onsite class.

New York singer and actress Kat Gang hired me to shoot her gig at NYC’s famed jazz club Birdland. Photographing musicians is always a pleasure, especially when they’re uber talented jazz cats, and her show didn’t disappoint. You know the music is great when the photographer has to remind himself he’s there to work!

michael gilbert

After a long hiatus from the stage, New York actor and director Michael Gilbert decided to get some headshots and get back on stage. We did a combination of studio and environmental natural light portraits to get him ready to start auditioning again. I love the simplicity of his photos.

freeman alley noir project

I found Freeman Alley earlier this year when a friend had his birthday at Freemans, a restaurant on New York’s Lower East Side that’s tucked away at the end of this little, graffiti-painted urban alley. I don’t do a lot of fashion photography, but I fell in love instantly and knew I wanted to create some beautiful and shady…
